Feature Friday: Females Who Inspire Us Meet Jayne

As a female-founded, mission-driven company who has drawn so much inspiration from other women, we knew early on that we wanted to find a way to share amazing women with our people (that’s all of you) each week. We figured what better way to honor women who inspire us every day + inspire you all, than to create a weekly series called Feature Friday: Females Who Inspire Us.

If you have been following along on our social media, you know we kicked this off the 1st Friday of International Women’s Month and now to close out the month, we are taking it a step further and doing an in-depth feature/Q+A of women who inspire us on the daily and then sharing it not only on our social media channels but also on our blog.

Without further, adieu, please give it up for this week’s Feature Friday Female: Jayne Mattingly.

Jayne Mattingly Recovery Love and Care adaptogens cold brew coffee wellness

Jayne is the gorgeous face behind the business, brand, and group practice, Recovery Love and Care, LLC! She is a bubbly, introverted woman, and with her professional and personal experience she proudly learns and grows with my brand. Jayne lives with a progressive chronic illness and is a disabled person. She uses that life experience to help others find body acceptance even when they feel their bodies are betraying them.  She is an incredibly driven girl boss and with a passion  to help ALL women find self-confidence and self-love within a culture that won’t allow them to! Jayne lives for her recovery; the love of her life, Sean (they’re getting married the second weekend of April by the way!!); her fur babies and family! She is all about empowering women and advocating for eating disorder recovery, body appreciation, and a positive sense of community.

Jayne is a woman who inspires us both personally and professionally through the grit + grace she continues to show each & every day.

Who are some women who inspire you daily, personally or professionally?

My mom and my two sisters constantly inspire me both personally and professionally. I am also in awe of my clients showing up everyday to do the hard work!

Who has been the most influential woman in your life, in becoming the person you are today, helping you discover and pursue your passions?

I believe it is a collective of all the women in my life! I was always encouraged that if I worked hard at something, advocated for myself, and was unapologetically me…that I could “get there”…but,  also learned the great importance of TRUE work/life balance. I continue to surround myself with women that life me up, empower me, and inspire me on a daily basis, both personally and professionally.

What has been your proudest moment personally or professionally?

Starting my business from the ground up was one of my biggest accomplishments professionally, along with getting my Master’s (degree) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I truly turned my “problem” into my purpose, in that, I myself, lived with an Eating Disorder, and now it is my purpose and passion to help others find recovery.

What has been your most challenging moment personally or professionally and how did you overcome that challenge?

Living through the past three years of brain surgeries, neuro procedures, chronic diagnosis, and more…it changed my perspective on life, my purpose and even how I run my business.

What does wellness mean to you? And why is it important to you and your family?

Wellness to me is taking care of not just your basic needs, but honoring your needs and desires physically, mentally and emotionally. Nourishing your body, resting when you need it, feeling your feelings, communicating, getting outside, embracing some form of physical movement if you can, and finding happiness in life!

What does your typical daily wellness routine look like?

I need my sleep…I need my coffee….my morning and night-time routines are so important to me as well. Getting outside, and to the beach is spiritual for me, surrounding myself with people that fill me up, being with animals, and nourishing my body with not just what it needs but what it craves as well...AND, always meeting my body with compassion and grace.
